Italian Delight: Drunken Noodles Recipe

Step away from the familiar classics of lasagna and spaghetti and dive into the flavours of Italy with this simple yet delicious Drunken Noodles dish. Loved in Italy for its uncomplicated preparation and mouth-watering combination of pasta, tomatoes, garlic and herbs, this dish is perfect for both weeknight dinners and special occasions.

Ingredients:

12 oz Egg Noodles, cooked as per your preference

1 lb Ground Italian Sausage

2 Bell Peppers, finely chopped

3 tsp Minced Garlic

1 tsp Italian Seasoning

½ Cup White Cooking Wine

28 oz Can of Diced Tomatoes (Do not drain)

1 Tbsp Dried Basil

Salt and Pepper, to taste

Parmesan Cheese and Fresh Chopped Parsley, for garnish

Recipe Instructions:

In a large saucepan or deep-sided skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground Italian sausage and chopped bell peppers. Cook until the sausage is thoroughly browned and the peppers have softened.

Reduce the heat to medium and stir in the minced garlic and Italian seasoning. Continue to sauté for about 30 seconds.

Add the white cooking wine to the pan, stirring until the liquid reduces by half.

Pour in the undrained diced tomatoes, along with the dried basil. Season with salt and pepper according to your preference and stir the mixture well.

Incorporate the cooked egg noodles into the saucepan, continuing to sauté until the dish is evenly heated.

Garnish your Italian Drunken Noodles with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley before serving.
