The most delicious bacon

Bacon is a delicious appetizer with a very rich history. Over the centuries, it has been prepared by housewives in home conditions. We encourage you to give up store-bought smoked bacon in favor of a natural homemade delight. You won’t even need a meat smoker. From the simplest and most accessible ingredients, you will get the crispiest, most flavorful, and delicious bacon.

Ingredients:
– 1 kg of bacon with layers of meat
– 2 heads of garlic
– 3 tablespoons of ground black pepper

FOR THE BRINE:
– onion peels (2 handfuls)
– 5 dried plums
– 2 bay leaves
– 200 g of salt
– 2 tablespoons of sugar
– 1 liter of water

Preparation method:
1. In a pot, mix all the ingredients for the brine. Put the pot on the heat and bring the brine to a boil.
2. Wash the bacon well. Dry it on a paper towel. Cut it into 2 smaller pieces.
3. Place the bacon in the pot with the brine. Boil it over moderate heat for 25 minutes.
4. Remove the pot from the heat and let the bacon cool overnight. Do not remove it from the brine.
5. Peel the garlic. Crush it together with the ground black pepper.
6. Remove the bacon from the pot and dry it on a paper towel. Rub it with garlic.
7. Wrap the bacon in plastic wrap and refrigerate it. Keep the bacon in the refrigerator for up to 7 days. If you want to keep it longer, freeze it. Our team wishes you bon appétit with your loved ones! Enjoy your meal!
