After being diagnosed with aphasia, Bruce Willis decided to stop acting

The family of actor Bruce Willis stated via a joint statement shared on social media that the Die Hard franchise star is quitting acting due to an aphasia diagnosis.

Due to damage to certain brain regions, this illness inhibits the ability to perceive or formulate words. Most often, a stroke or traumatic injury is to blame.

Rumer, Bruce’s daughter, posted the shocking information on Instagram, breaking the heart of millions of followers. “To Bruce’s incredible fans, as a family we wanted to convey that our dear Bruce has been facing some health concerns and has just recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is affecting his cognitive abilities,” she said beside a picture of her father.

“As a result of this and after careful contemplation, Bruce is leaving the profession that has meant a great deal to him.”

“Our family is going through a tremendously difficult time right now, so we sincerely appreciate all of your love, compassion, and support. We are dealing with this as a solid family and wanted to invite his fans because we are aware of how important they are to both of you.

“Live it up, as Bruce always says, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do together,”

Bruce has had a remarkable acting career, to put it mildly. He has appeared in a number of memorable films over the years, which has contributed to his reputation as one of the greatest actors of all time.

He first gained notoriety with the television programme Moonlighting, for which he won a Golden Globe and an Emmy. This multi-talented actor has demonstrated to Hollywood that there is no role that he cannot flawlessly perform.

Armageddon, Pulp Fiction, The Fifth Element, The Last Boy Scout, Twelve Monkeys, The Sixth Sense, Looper, and Moonrise Kingdom are just a few of the films that helped define his career.

He has also given family comedy a shot. Bruce appeared in seven movies last year alone, and three have already been released this year; however, none of them earned positive reviews. Eight additional completed movies are slated for release in 2022 and 2023.

His employment has primarily been limited to supporting roles in low-budget films in recent years, which has led to rumours regarding the reasons why. While some people thought he was just looking for easy money, others thought he might have a health issue.

The “Golden Raspberry Awards,” a yearly ceremony that recognises the worst in cinema, established an entire category called “Worst Performance by Bruce Willis in a 2021 Movie” to parody his eight performances in direct-to-video.

According to several media sources and magazines, some of Bruce’s coworkers did worry that anything was amiss with the famous actor after they saw him wearing an earphone on the set.
