Sloppy Joe’s origin is up for grabs. Sloppy Joe was invented in the 1930’s by a guy from Iowa called Joe. Sloppy Joe’s Bar in Key West, Florida has been around since 1933 serving sloppy Joe’s. A potential first-to-market finalist is Sloppy Joe’s Saloon in Havana. Who, then, can take credit for creating the classic ground beef sandwich?
