This is my method for keeping lemons fresh for one year without the need for freezing or cooking

Only a few basic items are required: 50 milliliters of vinegar, three teaspoons of salt, three bay leaves, six garlic cloves, and 1.5 kg of lemons. Yes, that is all there is to it! Let’s begin with the procedures.

First, get your lemons ready. Begin by carefully cleaning your lemons under running water. It’s critical to make sure they are pure and uncontaminated. After washing, gently pat them dry with a paper towel or clean cloth.

Step 2: Make Your Jar Sterilized To store your lemons, choose out a big glass jar with a tight-fitting lid. Wash the jar in hot water and soap to sanitize it, and then dry it in an oven set at 100°C for around fifteen minutes. It’s imperative that you take this action to stop bacteria from ruining your lemons.

Step 3: The Bath with Vinegar Combine the salt and vinegar in a big bowl. Now, thoroughly coat each lemon by dipping it into this mixture. The lemons are preserved for a longer period of time by the preservatives in the vinegar and salt.

Step 4: Ensuring Proper Packing Fill the sterile container with the lemons. Add the garlic cloves and bay leaves in between the lemons as you pile them in. These provide the lemons an additional layer of preservation in addition to imparting a lovely flavor and scent.

Step 5: Put the lid on and stash Once every lemon is firmly packed into the jar, replace the lid. Moving forward, keep the jar out of direct sunlight and in a cold, dry spot. A cupboard or pantry’s back is a great place.

There you have it, then! An easy, fuss-free method to preserve the freshness of your lemons for ages. This technique not only makes your kitchen more functional, but it also gives it a gourmet touch. Have your lemons for salads, cocktails, or any cuisine that needs a little citrus flavor. Have fun in the kitchen!
